INSTRUCTIONS
The following instructions are applicable to
the user who is registered or about to be registered as a DEALER on the Nigeria Car Mart
Service.
To register as a Dealer, on the left hand side of the Login page, click the hyperlink “Click here to register as a Dealer”. You will be presented with a login form in which some of your details will be required.
The information required on this form is for two purposes. The first is for prospective buyer to be able to contact you as the Dealer or a representative of the Dealer. Contacting may be by email or phone calls or actual visits to your office or site.
There is also the need for the system to be able to identify you, the Dealer as who you are in a case where you forget your login details. A check is run based on the information you have provided and you will be asked for some of this information again so as to check for consistency.
For these reasons please provide as much information as you can. Some of the fields, like email, are compulsory, others are not. But the more information you provide the better for you and the system.
Once registration is completed, a mail is sent
to you using the email address you supplied in your registration. This mail
contains your numeric Dealer ID, username and a 4 digit PIN. The Username is
extremely important as all reference to you or your company will be by this ID.
Therefore keep it as protected as you can. You can change your PIN anytime and
as often as you wish. You will need to provide your Dealer ID from time to
time.
When you have received your Username and PIN,
you may log on to the application using the “login screen”. On logging in, you are presented with a
number of options depending on what you want to do. You can begin listing your
properties right away. We have created fields and guides to help you to a
successful and attractive listing, so most of what you have to do is select from
available options.
LISTING A VEHICLE
After logging on, you are presented with an
introductory page. This actually gives you a summary of your activities and
listings and pending items. You are also presented with a number of options
including editing administrative settings in your “homebox”.
Clicking on the “List Vehicle” Button from the
series of buttons on the left of the screen exposes to you the functionality to
list a new vehicle. You simply put in all the available details of the vehicle
as requested on the form. When all information relevant to the vehicle has been
provided, click on the “Save” at the bottom of the form. If you are not okay
with what you have done, you can click on the “Cancel” button to start over or
the “Exit” button if you do not want to list a vehicle at this
time.
If you have clicked on the “Save” button, you
will be presented with all the details you have provided as a last check before
the actual submission. This gives an opportunity to review your listing and to
check for mistakes and errors. If there is an error in the listing, you can
click the “Cancel” button to get an opportunity to edit the listing or to cancel
it entirely. To complete the listing, click the “Save” or “Submit” button to
complete the listing.
Once done, your listing is accepted and you get
an acknowledgement of same. A listing charge is deducted from your Nigeria Car Mart
Account Balance. You are also prompted to upload pictures of the vehicle if you
have any. If you accept to upload pictures, you will be presented with an upload
page with which you can upload pictures from your computer or external drives.
You are allowed a maximum of 10 pictures with each picture not larger than 100
KB and the files must be in JPG or BMP or TIFF format.
Once file upload is completed, you will get an
acknowledgment. The pictures uploaded will be displayed along with the listed
vehicle when viewed by prospective buyer.
VIEW LISTING
Clicking on the “View Listing” button presents
a list of valid listings posted by you (or your company). A listing is valid for 14 days. This
means that any vehicle listed will remain visible to the world for 14 (fourteen)
days. Prospective buyers who search the Nigeria Car Mart site can see your listing if it
meets their search criteria only if your listing remains
valid.
Once a listing expires, it will be
automatically taken off the valid listing view and searchers will not be able to
find or view the vehicle, unless a re-list is done.
The View Listing page provides an interface to
view details of each listed vehicle. It also provides a navigation tool to move
from one vehicle listing to another. Included also is the functionality to Unlist an item when the listing is no
longer valid. This is useful in a case where a vehicle is sold and is no longer
available within the 14-day listing period.
OLD ITEMS
The Old Items view shows all listings that have
expired. Listings expire 14 (fourteen) days after they were listed. These
expired listings cannot be viewed by the prospective searcher (buyer or
buyer).
Two options exist for old items (expired
listings).
-
An expired listing
can be re-listed, meaning it can be
placed in the valid pool once again for the world to view. A re-listed item will
remain listed for 14 (fourteen) days except you (i.e. the Dealer) unlist it. If
you had uploaded pictures along with the listing, there is no need to upload
again. The pictures will be displayed along with the vehicle upon
re-listing.
-
An expired listing
can be deleted. Once deleted, this
record is no longer available. Deleting an item also deletes all the uploaded
pictures attached to the vehicle listed. To re-list a deleted item, a fresh
listing must be made and where there are pictures, they must be uploaded
afresh.
To re-list or delete an item, check the box
beside the item. You can also select multiple items to re-list. When all items
to be re-listed have been selected, you will have to select the action to
perform. At the list box located at the bottom of the page, select the action to
be taken. You can choose to delete or re-list selected items. To complete the
procedure, click on “GO”.
In the case of re-listing, a listing charge is
deducted from your Nigeria Car Mart Account per item re-listed and you get an
acknowledgement. If your account is not funded, you also get a notice of this
and on what item re-listing failed.
In the case of deleting, you get an
acknowledgement of the deleted items.
Expired items left unrelisted will be deleted
after 90 days.
BALANCES
The Balances page shows each Dealer’s summary
of financial transaction as far as Nigeria Car Mart is concerned. It gives a statement
of account for the Dealer’s Nigeria Car Mart Account. Deductions from listings are
reflected in this page. Payments made into the Dealer’s account are also
reflected in this page.
HISTORY
A history of listings, expiries, re-lists and
deletes for Dealer is provided in this page. This is for audit purpose. Only
history for the last 6 months will be maintained. History entries older than 6
months will be automatically deleted on a monthly basis.

met, the item meeting the requirement is automatically deleted from the
outstanding list.
